We’ve reinvented vertical installation with Schindler R.I.S.E – our revolutionary Robotic Installation System for Elevators. It’s our safest and fastest elevator installation system to date – and it’s changing the construction world for good.
We’ve reinvented vertical installation with Schindler R.I.S.E – our revolutionary Robotic Installation System for Elevators. It’s our safest and fastest elevator installation system to date – and it’s changing the construction world for good.
We’ve built our reputation on designing the cities of tomorrow. Schindler R.I.S.E is the perfect example of this commitment. It’s nothing short of revolutionary – an automated and autonomous robot capable of installing the tallest elevators. Besides translating into huge safety gains, Schindler R.I.S.E operates with a precision and speed that simply can’t be matched by humans.
Our Schindler R.I.S.E system can complete a floor much faster than conventional installation methods. That includes drilling and setting the anchor bolts required for landing doors, divider beams, and wall brackets. The robot is fitted with a camera that allows remote viewing, but the system works independently – no operator is required. Once installed in the elevator shaft, the autonomous robot operates non-stop until all anchor bolts are installed.
This way, we can maintain the highest installation quality, while relieving workers from the physically demanding, repetitive, and time-consuming tasks of preparing the shaft.
Digital planning solutions such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) have taken the construction world by storm. Schindler R.I.S.E is the next piece in the puzzle – fitting in perfectly to complement and enhance these solutions. Data is directly streamed from the digital model of the building to the robot, greatly improving accuracy. In return, information and data from each step of the installation is recorded in the digital model of the building for later reference and review.
Together with our customers, we’re shaping the construction sites of the future. As part of this commitment, we conducted a research with the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) to investigate how robotic technology, such as Schindler R.I.S.E, can positively impact the construction processes of tall buildings. Our ultimate shared goal is to improve the quality and speed of construction, while maintaining safety on-site.
*CTBUH is a non-profit organization that facilitates the exchange of knowledge on tall buildings.
We’re proud of our pioneering heritage in elevator technology. We have a long tradition of developing innovative mobility solutions, including the first-ever patent for elevators without a machine room.
We are proud to introduce this innovative robotics system which provides a new level of worker safety and helps improve quality. This is another example of Schindler’s commitment to providing the most advanced digital and urban mobility solutions to shape the smart cities of the future.
